Collections

Bajer watches inherited its collection names and colors from the natural elements of the Kurdish heritage and region.

Influenced by the vineyards and pistachio fields of Urfa, a rich red is available. Forest Green stems from the olive trees of Antep, and Noir Black from the Black stone city of Amed, Diyarbakir.

The various shades of brown from the city of Mardin and Urfa’s World famous Gobekli Tepe reflect the earthy hues of the historic sites where limestone was traditionally used in building the foundations of temples, homes, and other architectural structures for thousands of years.

About our motifs

For the most part, in rural Kurdish communities, women’s voices have traditionally been silenced in the public sphere. But, these women developed their artistic language, which allows them to communicate the depths of their emotions. For example, they weave rugs with symbols with unique meanings. Then, when these motifs are orderly arranged and combined with colors, they tell a specific story that others can recognize. Hence, Bajer takes its three designs in decoding the secret language of Kurdish women.
